Welcome to Ridgeway Elementary Art

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am so excited to have the opportunity to guide your children through their art experience this year. Since I sometimes keep artwork for several months to save for art shows/displays, etc..., I will be posting most of the students' artwork on an online art gallery called Artsonia (www.artsonia.com) so you will be able to see it right away. Please use your child's screen name and key code (which will either be e-mailed to you, or I will send the information home) to log on and register as your child's parent. You can also create fan clubs for the artists, leave comments about the artwork, and have the students leave an artist statement reflecting on their art.

Please also note which day your child has art class. I would like each child to bring in a smock of their own which will be kept in their classroom and brought to art each week, but it is always a good idea to also dress in older clothes on art days. Most of the art supplies we use claim to be washable, but once in a while I always have a hard time getting something out of my own clothes!
